Gild Hall (SOLD OUT)
2126 The Highway
Arden (near Wilmington), Delaware 19810
Arden is but 17 non-nautical miles SW o' Philadelphia's airport
This evening will be one for the ages because of my super-special guest, who headlines everywhere and has several streaming specials but who, unless he gets a last-minute riverboat show, has graciously agreed to do 29 minutes in front of me because a) we are close friends, and b) he loves the intelligent (not to put pressure on you) audiences I attract: one of the top mirth-purveyors in all the land, the meteorically-soaring Myq Kaplan.
Arden is well-worth visiting: not just one structure, not just two, but the entire village is listed on the National Register of Historic Places
The Gild Hall itself is well-worth a gander; from its website:
Arden Concert Gild brings music to 160-year-old Gild Hall in Arden, Delaware. Located less than thirty minutes south of Philadelphia, the hall is nestled in the woods of the world-renowned art colony and villages, founded under the “Single-Tax” movement in 1900 by sculptor Frank Stephens and architect Will Price. Serving as a venue for performances dating back to its 1910 remodeling, the Gild Hall stage has been graced by Lead Belly, Pete Seeger, and Burl Ives, amongst countless others.
